A few weeks ago we flew up to Salt Lake City Utah to photograph our AWESOME new friends Gretta & Rob! You may recall this handsome couple from their fabulous engagement sessionwe posted a few months back. They were married on May 10th at the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. We had been looking forward to this wedding ever since we shot their engagement session because Gretta and Rob are seriously one of the most photogenic couples we have ever worked with and we knew their day was going to be amazing!
One of the first details we caught as they exited the temple were Gretta's orange shoes....
While dining in Salt Lake City our friend introduced us to the most amazing Mexican restaurant called The Red Iguana. We fell in love with the outer exterior red and orange walls so we decided to come back on the wedding day for some fun backdrops in Gretta and Rob's portraits.
My favorite shot of the day! Go Rob!!!!
I still can't get over Gretta's yellow-ish eyes!
We also found an abandoned house with a yard full of dandelions!
Gretta attended high school in Salt Lake City at West High and she told us about a huge "W" there, which was perfect since her new last name is now Whalen!
Of course we had get a quick shot with our totally awesome clients and friends!
Btw....the Kiss sign in album was a TOTAL hit!
Thank you, thank you, and a big CONGRATULATIONS to Gretta and Rob, we had a blast capturing this awesome day for you two! Click here to view their slideshow with "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel!

so about that...yeah. The best! Rob and Gretta have it, if you know what i mean. Just like Bert and Lonnie (easy movie quote, i gave that one to you). Actually, it was seeing their engagements that made me want to quit smoking and beating my red-headed step child (no offense Amelia). That's not all really true, their engagements made me start responding to blogs which in itself is a huge step for me in this digital era. Thanks Lyons for your "one step plan" into the future.
CONFESSION: I never smoked. I wish i had a red-headed step child with my one and only love Lyndzee

Connie and Christopher had a beautiful wedding at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort. The weather was amazing, we really couldn't have asked for anything better! You may remember Connie and Chris from their engagement session in Downtown LA.
I thought that this ring shot was pretty clever until I saw the one Justin got later on at the reception! Scroll down to see it.
I love the idea behind this image...
Here's my favorite shot of the day taken by Justin!
Justin's genius ring shot!
The DJ had some pretty fun games for the guests attending the wedding!

I went back to my old stomping grounds in Manhattan Beach to shoot an engagement session with the lovely Tina and Buddy. I say "my old stomping grounds" because this was where I use to work as a nanny and would walk the main beach there all of the time(before I even considered photography as a career). I loved going back there, pleasant memories and the weather was amazing for a portrait session!
Buddy and Tina live just live a few blocks from the Manhattan Beach Pier and I was so glad that they chose to have their engagement session there so I could have an excuse to visit one of my favorite beaches in Southern California.
I am so glad we were able sneak an engagement session in for Buddy and Tina as their wedding is scheduled for this weekend (May 24th)!
There was a shark on display at the end of the Pier in front of the Aquarium, this was kind of an inside joke for Buddy & Tina!
Here's my favorite shot of the day. One thing that I think is great about this photo is the pink scarf (pagmina I believe the correct name for it!) used as a prop which adds another element to the story of this image. I definitely would recommend using props to my future clients.

My cousin Sarah and her husband Haini are saints! They are both in their early thirties and have birthed eight kids! Yes, I said eight! And might I just say that Sarah looks amazing! Also, Sarah is now expecting her ninth baby! Sarah and Haini (a former member of The Jets) have the most amazing love for children and large families. Also, the Wolfgramm kids have all inherited their parents' musical talent and the oldest five have been playing in their own band together, they sound REALLY GOOD! In fact, they made a little cameo on Yo Gabba Gabba last season!
Sarah called me a few weeks ago and asked me if I would do a photo shoot for her kids' band and I was so excited to do so! I also decided to do a family portrait that same day. I just have to say how awesome the experience was to spend the afternoon with them! I can't believe how well behaved all of the Wolfgramm children were and what a delight they were to work with!
I can't wait to see how famous they get with this amazing talent they have been given!

A few months back I was contacted by Rob (a friend of one of our past clients) to photograph him and his beautiful lady Jessica. Rob also hired me at the same to time to photograph his sister and her dog (you remember Jen and Rossi?!). While discussing locations Rob mentioned Malibu and since I'm always down to shoot in a new environment I quickly agreed! I loved this private beach right off of PCH, I didn't even know it existed. So glad I know where it is now!
My favorite shot of the day, I love the expressions on both of their faces and also the lens flare!
Rob & Jessica are also expecting their first baby...so sweet!
